CALL ANSWERING · CORK
AI receptionist for Cork trades & service businesses
If your work takes you between Cork city and jobs around the county, the phone can ring when you cannot safely answer. Ciara takes the details so your next callback starts with the job and its location.
A remote phone service for Irish businesses. You keep your number; your phone provider’s forwarding settings connect calls to Ciara.
USEFUL DETAILS, BEFORE THE CALLBACK
Separate the location from the promise to travel
A caller saying “Cork” might mean the city or a job elsewhere in the county. Ballincollig, Midleton and Clonakilty are different destinations, not interchangeable coverage labels. Tell Ciara where you normally work and which requests need your decision first.
Which town or part of the county?
Capture the actual job location rather than assuming every Cork enquiry is in the city. An Eircode is useful when the address needs clarifying.
What work needs doing?
A small repair and a full installation may justify different travel decisions. Describe the jobs you want and those you do not take.
Is it urgent or planned work?
Record the caller’s urgency. You decide the response and any visit time after checking the enquiry and your diary.
ILLUSTRATIVE ENQUIRY
A planned heating enquiry outside the city
This is an example of information for a callback. It is not a quotation or a booking. Ciara leaves the price and visit date for you to confirm.
- Location
- A house near Midleton
- Job
- A caller asking about replacing a heating system
- Follow-up detail
- They want a quotation and a possible date for a visit
- Owner decision
- Confirm the scope, coverage and next step before offering a price or appointment
SET IT UP FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Four things to agree before forwarding calls
Ciara answers in your business’s name, identifies herself as AI and captures the caller’s name, callback number, job, area and urgency. Your business instructions give that conversation its context.
- Write down your normal city and county coverage using the towns you actually serve.
- Explain whether your coverage changes for repairs, servicing and installation work.
- Decide what you want captured when a caller is outside that area.
- Test a city enquiry, a county enquiry and a caller asking for an immediate arrival time.
The enquiry comes to you. The decision stays with you.
Ciara records requests for a callback. Client calls are not transferred live, and capturing an enquiry does not book a job. You confirm prices, availability and whether you can take on the work.
Test your forwarding, business instructions and call summaries during setup. Provider settings and the instructions you approve affect how calls are handled.
Before you get started
Can I take some jobs outside my usual Cork service area?
You can explain those exceptions in your instructions: for example, larger planned work that you want to review yourself. Test the wording so the receptionist captures the request for your decision without accepting the job or promising travel on your behalf.
Do you have a Cork office that answers these calls?
NeverMissACall is a remote AI receptionist service. This guide explains how a Cork business can set up call handling for its own service area; it does not represent a local staffed reception office.
Can I keep my number, and what does it cost?
Setup uses call forwarding from your existing business number, subject to your provider’s settings. The first 7 days are free, with no setup fee. The monthly quote and included minutes are agreed for your business before you commit. Ask your phone provider about any forwarding charges, and test the forwarding before relying on it.
